TSMO carries people in their own wheelchair, or in one of ours, with a lift platform and secured positions in the vehicle.
Across Ottawa, Gatineau and the Outaouais, seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Can the person stay in their own chair?
Yes. The lift platform takes the chair and the person together, and the chair is secured in position for the drive.
What if the chair does not suit the trip?
TSMO carries padded reclining geriatric wheelchairs on board, which are more comfortable than most personal chairs for a long ride or a long wait.
What about the stairs at the front door?
TSMO is equipped to handle stairs at private residences. Mention them when you book so the right vehicle and the right crew arrive.
How is this different from an accessible taxi?
An accessible taxi carries a wheelchair. TSMO carries a person who needs help: accompaniment from inside the home to inside the destination, drivers trained in first aid, CPR and safe patient handling, and a handoff at the other end before the driver leaves.
