TSMO’s accessible transportation is a personalised service, with a flexible route and schedule, for people who cannot use regular public paratransit or who have difficulty getting into an ordinary vehicle.

Accompaniment runs from the point of departure — inside the home, the residence or the hospital — to inside the destination.

01

Who is this service for?

People who do not have the independence needed, or whose mobility limitations keep them from using regular public paratransit, and who have difficulty getting into a standard vehicle.

02

What is the difference between an accessible taxi and medical accessible transportation?

An accessible taxi carries a wheelchair from one point to another.

TSMO runs a recent, well-maintained fleet equipped with GPS tracking, defibrillators, on-board electrical power, lift platforms and padded reclining geriatric wheelchairs. Drivers are trained in first aid, CPR and safe patient handling. And for trips home from the hospital, crews are equipped to handle stairs at private residences.

03

How does scheduling work?

On request, with a flexible route. Drivers arrive on time and get the information the transfer needs from care staff or family. On arrival, they make sure someone takes charge before leaving.

04

Where is the service available?

Across the Outaouais, including Ottawa and Gatineau, as well as in Quebec and Ontario.

Frequently asked questions

Who can use TSMO’s accessible transportation?

People whose mobility limitations keep them from using regular public paratransit, or who have difficulty getting into a standard vehicle.

Is registration or eligibility required?

No. A phone call is enough, with no eligibility file to have approved.

How is it different from Para Transpo?

Public paratransit requires registration and booking inside a fixed window, and the vehicle is shared. TSMO’s service is booked for one specific trip, at the time you choose.

Is it only for medical appointments?

No. An outing, shopping, a visit, an event. TSMO drives people where they want to go.

Is the ride shared with other passengers?

No. The vehicle is booked for your trip.
