A TSMO medical accompaniment runs in five steps, from gathering information before the trip to the handoff on arrival — nobody is left alone at any stage of the trip.
Before the trip
The driver gets information from the nurse, residence staff or family: mobility, oxygen, transfers, and whatever helps the person feel at ease.
The handoff
It begins inside the home, the residence or the hospital room, never on the curb.
During the appointment
The driver goes in, stays, and takes notes on what is said.
Reporting back
The family learns what the doctor said and what the person needs to do next.
On arrival
The driver stays until someone has taken over.
